The original. Softer feel, more compressed midrangey and creamy tones. Think vintage or even jazzy smooth in for the neck. The bridge is dirty and dry.
Think Derek Trucks on the jazzy leads he does for Allman Brothers from the neck pickup. Think his partner Warren Haynes with some of the grittier leads from the bridge pickup. Many customers also say this set nails the Mike Bloomfield tones. One of my first custom handwound P.A.F designs.
Use Yinbranes for a more blues-rock or southern rock tone. Standard nickel covers have tight radiuses on the edges and are thin, like early Humbuckers. Beware the covers that are too thick or made of inferior materials, they can suck your tone!
