I am amazed with the Earthbrane pickup set. They can do early Santana, they can be agressive for early Jimmy Page or Clapton sound. Very versatile pickups. They like to be in a guitar with great sustain, like a Historic Les Paul reissue.

Rod,

Dude, these pups (Earthbranes) are the shit! You may or may not remember my customized '77 Standard but combined with your pups this guitar friggin' rocks. I'm just not a good enough player to fully show what that combination can do. I'm SURE your Page pups smoke as well.,

William

Rod,

Your Goldbranes have breathed new life into my LP Custom. I have never played such clear pickups before. I have always been a player who uses heavy distortion and high winds, but I have just fallen in love with the clean tones that I can get with these babies. I can't seem to get off the neck pup - it is that amazing. There are no words to describe the creamy goodness. You roll the volume down and it's like biting into a Milky Way - crank it up and it's all Snickers. Good work my man!

Rod

You should be happy with yourself as it is fantastic, really crisp and clear, and works well in conjunction with the existing pickup! Also for what it's worth, your relic job of the pickup is much better and your sticker looks much better than the Gibson one...

Thanks again.....you should be really happy with your work here Rod!

Rocking out with some T-Shawbranes in a Gibson Les Paul guitar!

Rod, Thank you so much for these wonderful pickups. I purchased the Earthbranes, and WHAT a difference! My R7 growls, it bumps and screams! I think my strat is going to have to take a backseat on stage now. I wish I knew how to make a sound clip, to show my appreciation. This was a great investment! My R8 is next! Thanks so much!
Howard

Hey Rod,

Installed my Yinbranes. They are godlike! I can honestly say that they stomp all over my WB 67-07's... hands down. Thanks for the great work! By the way, out of curiosity, are there any tonal differences between standard pole pieces and the vintage sized screws that are offered on some of your more expensive pups? Just wondering.

Great job again man,
D

Great. I can't wait to get it. I have been jamming on the neck pup and I am in heaven. It is just so smooth, clear, and crisp. You can really hear the wood of the guitar (if that makes any sense). If the bridge is the same quality as the neck (as I am sure it is), I can end my search for pickups. I get why you call them Skatterbrane - your brain gets all wacky when you finally hear what your guitar can actually do because you never thought that tone was actually achievable. I want to buy another guitar just so I can put some Skatterbranes in it.

Hi Rod!

Definitely plenty of Energy from the T-Shawbranes ,I couldn't quit playing last night .There was something different coming from my amp than normal.... they respond SO well to fast playing ,a soloist's dream . It is a different pickup than I have ever had in my possession that's for damn sure! I have been dwelling on the short but sweet audition last night....the clarity, top end sizzle, sparkle & holy sustain is ridiculous, Bad Ass Tone! I can't wait to get the hell out of work & go home to play Guitar

Greg

I installed the new Ben-Wabranes this afternoon in the R9, Its Pure PAF tone, now that's as close as I have got to the "Crossroads " tone yet, they have all the elements, Page, Clapton ,Beck , Allman. The Bridge is just pure Page, I am learning/being taught a bunch of Zeppelin tunes at the moment, so I am in the zone. Mid position has a very very creamy tone with perfect compression . SUCCESS!

You can really hear these humbuckers cutting through the mix:

Listen to that awesome vintage tone:

Dear Rod!

Finally metalbrane set are installed. I managed to get the BEST LP sound ever! Creamy and extremely pick sensitive. Don't let the Metalbrane name mislead you! It is capable to get any classic vintage blues rock sound with airy tone and pleasing overtones on clean as well overdriven. A super-balanced set but bridge is scary good!(if height calibrated properly: I found that this is the most critical element to find the sweet spot! First the neck was too much saturated and overdrive was sudden..then setting slowly by half turns down the screw it then THAT sound surprised me.) Better than any sound I have heard before! :)

Rod,
I'm really enjoying these pickups. I have mostly just plugged it into my little marshall lead 12 and played along to my beano cd. The tones are identical to Claptons. I have also played it through my 70's deluxe reverb and can see how it almost sounds like a single coil. They have a great chime and clarity plus a whole lot of PAF mojo. I can't wait to try playing it through my JTM 45 amp. Thinking of getting a yangbrane set for my SG.
Thanks! Hiram

What a difference from a pair of guitar pickups
U Complete me.... Lol

Sigh... I can FINALLY stop looking!
A $400.000 sound and look for just under $8000.

I will be posting on every forum I can!

Many Many Many Thanks,
Jeff

Rod,

I got my neck pickup installed Tuesday and had a chance to play about 20 min that night. It took me only a short while to dial in Larry/Robbenville. Oh how sweet. As Jackie Gleason used to say, Wooooooow! The things I noticed the most were the open airy tone, the clarity, and the sensitivity to touch. The static is gone, thanks for taking care of that. They clean up just by backing off the pick attack a little, or dig in and let it rip. Even my wife liked the sound of them and said I have found my tone. She also said they make me sound better than I really am (just what the world needs, another music critic).

I took that guitar to my lesson last night and we ran it through its paces. My teacher, John Cook, wanted to compare the tones to a PRS of his. He has a Jaros guitar that he wants to change out the pickups in (same kind of guitar that I put the Skatterbranes in). He got to play it for a short while Tuesday and said great things about the pickups, but we had a jam last night. He may have found what he wants with the Skatterbranes, but I suspect he would want a slightly hotter version for his tastes. I’m pretty sure he will be in touch with you asking about magnets, wire gauge, windings, and all that stuff. He’s like the rest of us crazies; trying to find that tone in his head.

Looking forward to my next set,

Bob
