SKATTERBRANE
HANDWOUND PAF STYLE HUMBUCKING PICKUPS
Back by popular request, Gary B:
My friends Dan:

I started SKATTERBRANES on a whim, mostly I was not satisfied with many of the pickups I have tried on my Les Pauls. I wanted bite and growl and at the same time rich texture and harmonics. These are wound to still sound very articulate with the neck tone set at "0". They have very rich woman tones, very expressive vowel sounds. Great for those who like to let their guitar "talk" while playing the blues. The bridge windings are wound for great dirty tones, without being thin or piercing.
Here is my opinion about return policies. I have bought MANY pickups through the years, and I expect them to function, not be defective. Beyond that I do not expect the maker to be responsible for my particular tastes. If I do not like them, I merely sell them off (at a loss, always) but I learned more and more what I was looking for, and which ones to buy again.
I wind these to suit MY tastes, and so far people's tastes agree with mine, but if they do not, then I am sorry. They are guaranteed against defects for one year. If the coils are damaged because of cover removal, or similar accident, sorry! I reserve the right to repair OR replace a defective pickup whichever is most suitable to the individual situation.
Here is a direct quote from a customer in Finland, of how he heard of SKATTERBRANES:
Thank you very much, i'm sure i'm going to like it, I happened to heard these pickups in here finland,in Helsinki actually where a local blues club arranges Jam nights where i managed to jam on stage with one american fellow who had scatterbrane pickups on his gibson. I had an opportunity to play with that guitar and i instantly fell in love with that warm sound which i have been looking for ages.I had allready tried burtsbuckers, lindy fralin, 57" humbuckers and so on but i felt there was always something missing on sound if you know what i mean, the final bunch.well Now i really hope my seeking has ended.
Here is one of my Les Pauls that now enjoy the tonal qualities of SKATTERBRANES!
